Teen killed in Pittsburg County crash

A tragic incident occurred early Saturday morning in Pittsburg County, Oklahoma, resulting in the death of a 17-year-old driver after a single-vehicle rollover crash on U.S. Highway 270. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports that the collision happened around 1:06 a.m. near West U.S. Highway 270 and White Chimney Road. The driver was traveling at high speed eastbound when they failed to negotiate a turn, veering left, then overcorrecting, causing the vehicle to skid off the road, hit an embankment, and roll over. Sadly, the driver, a juvenile from Stuart, Oklahoma, was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle, ultimately succumbing to injuries. The crash is currently under investigation.
