Tanker truck crashes over hillside, losing tires that then hit tractor-trailer on I-79

Officials said a section of Interstate 79 in Washington County is restricted to a single lane in both directions after a tanker truck crashed and went over a hillside, and its tires hit another tractor-trailer. The South Strabane Fire Department said the north and southbound lanes of I-79, just south of Racetrack Road, are down to a single lane. A tanker truck went over a hillside, with two of its tires traveling onto the northbound lanes, hitting another tractor-trailer, the department said. Multiple South Strabane fire units, alongside Pennsylvania State Police, were on the scene as of 4:20 p.m. Tuesday. Drivers should expect delays in the area and are urged to find alternative routes.
