Suspects on the run after fatal accident in Brighton
Authorities in Brighton are looking into a fatal collision involving multiple individuals and suspects who left the scene on Sunday. The incident occurred at the intersection of Highway 85 and Weld County Road 2.5. A Ford SUV failed to obey a stop sign, resulting in a collision with a GMC SUV traveling in the opposite direction. Tragically, one passenger from the Ford was killed, another was severely injured and two others ran away. The individuals who fled were later apprehended, with one of them being identified as Erik Diaz Olivas, 20. The GMC passengers sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital. Investigators suspect that a third vehicle hit the deceased individual after the initial crash before fleeing the scene. The incident is still being investigated, and further details will be provided by the Weld County Coroner's Office.
