St. Lucie County judge grants continuance in deadly turnpike crash case

A judge in St. Lucie County has granted a continuance in the case against Harjinder Singh, who is accused of causing a deadly crash on the Florida Turnpike last August that killed three people. Singh did not appear in court; instead, his attorneys requested more time to prepare for the case. Investigators say the crash was triggered by an illegal U-turn, and Singh has pleaded not guilty to multiple charges, including vehicular homicide and manslaughter.Your neighborhood: Local coverage from WPBF 25 NewsSingh's defense attorney, Natalie Knight-Tai, raised concerns during the hearing about a third-party attorney who filed paperwork to appear in the case despite having no affiliation with Singh."Last evening I filed a motion to quash with the memo of law, and that has to be addressed because he has no affiliation in this case nor to my client," Knight-Tai said. The judge noted that the attorney appears to be entering a notice of appearance on behalf of the victim's family and requested that the issue be addressed in a future hearing.
