Snowmobile crash on Lake Koshkonong in Sumner, 1 transported by Med Flight
On Sunday, February 1st, there was a snowmobile accident on Lake Koshkonong in the Town of Sumner near North Shore Road. Emergency services responded to the incident at around 11:20 a.m. Upon arrival, they found a lone snowmobile crash with one individual 500 yards out on the frozen lake. With the help of a UTV, the patient was safely brought back to shore. Due to the severity of the injuries and the location, the patient was airlifted by UW Med Flight. A landing area was set up at Highway 106 and North Shore Road, leading to a temporary road closure for about half an hour. The patient, a woman in her forties, was flown to a trauma center in critical condition. The investigation of the incident is ongoing by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
