Skydiver dies after mid-air collision with another jumper
[Editor's Note: The video above is about a local skydiving accident.] ADAMS COUNTY, Wash. (WJW) – A deadly skydiving accident is under investigation in Washington, where two jumpers collided. It happened in Adams County, Washington, around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, according to the sheriff’s office. The sheriff said information from West Plains Skydiving indicated that 11 people were taking part in a scheduled group jump. Preliminary findings indicate the two skydivers collided in midair during descent. After the collision, one of the skydivers became unresponsive. “Randy Hubbs reportedly became incapacitated and was no longer in control of his parachute canopy,” the sheriff’s office said. Hubbs drifted away from the drop zone and disappeared behind a hill. It’s not clear if his body has been recovered. The other jumper was taken to the hospital. Their condition is not known. Officials said weather conditions were not believed to be a factor. The sheriff’s office says it is still investigating.
