Shem Creek boating crash claims life of Citadel Cadet

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) - A boat crash in Shem Creek on Saturday night that left one dead has been identified by the Citadel as Cadet Evan Greenleigh. A message that was sent on Monday from the Citadel President, General Glenn M. Walters, shared the news of the death of Evan Greenleigh, a member of the Corps of Cadets Class of 2029. "I am saddened to share the news of the death of a member of our Corps of Cadets Class of 2029. Cadet Evan Greenleigh tragically passed away this past weekend. Evan was a member of Echo Company and was a Mechanical Engineering major. He came to The Citadel from Bethesda, Maryland, and was a member of the Tennis team. Evan was an exceptional Classmate and Teammate," says General Glenn M. Walters.
