Seymour woman dead after Monday crash in Jackson County

JACKSON COUNTY, Ind. -- A Seymour woman died after a Monday afternoon crash in Jackson County. According to a news release from the Jackson County Sheriff's Department, deputies received a 911 call reporting a single-vehicle crash in the 3600 block of West County Road 225 North at around 2:18 p.m. on Monday. A preliminary investigation determined that a 2002 Toyota Echo, driven by 26-year-old Angel Grider, was traveling westbound on County Road 225 when Grider lost control of the vehicle. The release said that the Echo left the roadway and rolled "several times into a field" on the north side of the road. Officials stated that Grider was ejected from the vehicle during the crash due to her not wearing a seatbelt. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The release stated that "aggressive, high-speed driving caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle." Officials said that the crash remains under investigation.
