Several crashes reported after overnight storms in WV
CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — Several vehicle crashes were reported Thursday morning after storms created hazardous road conditions. The WV511 website reported four vehicle crashes on I-79 between Meadowbrook Mall and the Jerry Dove exit. Three of the wrecks happened in the southbound lanes around between 6:49am and 6:53am. The fourth crash is reported in the northbound lane at 6:49am. There's another I-79 southbound crash reported near Anmoore that happened earlier at 6:42am. Further north a reported crash at 6:19am on I-79 north at mile marker 145 has traffic slowed on the interstate. Difficult road conditions formed after overnight storms dropped heavy rain on the roadways. Throughout the night several counties were under thunderstorm warnings and tornado watches.
