Serious motorcycle accident closes Kempsville Road in Chesapeake
CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - Kempsville Road was closed multiple hours Saturday afternoon at the Hunningdon Lakes Boulevard intersection due to a serious motorcycle accident, according to the Chesapeake Police Department. According to officials, at approximately 1:48 p.m. Sunday afternoon, a motorcycle traveling south on Kempsville Road was involved in a collision with a vehicle making a left-hand turn at the intersection of Hunningdon Lakes Boulevard. The motorcycle struck the vehicle, resulting in serious injuries to the rider. The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Chesapeake Police are investigating the incident. All Westbound lanes of Kempsville Road at Hunningdon Lakes Boulevard have since reopened, according to the Chesapeake Roads X account. 10 On Your Side will provide additional updates once more information becomes available.
