Serious crash in Ocoee forces closure of Clarke Road, police say

Clarke Road was shut down Tuesday night in Ocoee due to a fatal crash, according to police and firefighters. The road was shut down in both directions between Edinborough Place and A.D. Mims Road, the Ocoee Police Department said around 9:26 p.m. on social media. Bluford Avenue and Johio Shores Road are good alternate routes, the post states. In an update to the post, the police department said the crash involved seven vehicles and that officers were working to identify all persons involved and make next-of-kin notifications.According to a statement from Ocoee fire department Deputy Chief Charles Van Camp, the crash involved eight total patients, as well at at least one vehicle that had flipped on its side.The female driver of one vehicle was reported dead on arrival and two people who were entrapped were taken to the trauma center, with four others taken to local hospitals, Van Camp said in the statement.WESH 2 News has a crew at the scene of the crash.Anyone who witnessed the crash or has information on the events leading up to the crash is urged to contact Ocoee police at 407-905-3160.>> This is a developing story and will be updated as more information is released A previous version of this story incorrectly described Charles Van Camp as being deputy chief of the Ocoee Police Department.
