Semi-truck crash causes major delays on I-70

CLEAR CREEK COUNTY, Colo. (KREX) - The driver of a semi-truck traveled off the roadway on I-70 east on Thursday morning, resulting in injuries and the closure of multiple travel lanes. The incident occurred at approximately 8:20 a.m. near mile marker 237. According to the Clear Creek Sheriff's Office, two people, identified as the driver and a passenger, were able to exit the vehicle after the crash. Emergency responders are treating both individuals for injuries that are described as non-life-threatening. Traffic is being restricted in the area as crews respond to the scene located just before the exit for St. Mary's and Fall River Road. In addition to the highway restriction, Stanley Road is closed in both directions. The closure on Stanley Road, also known as County Road 312, spans from Fall River on the east side to the Liquid Descent rafting company on the west side. Authorities stated that both the right lane of I-70 East and Stanley Road will remain closed throughout the duration of the recovery effort.
