Sedgwick County initiates Emergency Accident Reporting Plan
The Emergency Accident Reporting Plan was implemented recently in unincorporated Sedgwick County, which means that Sedgwick County deputies will not respond to every accident. Instead, if you are involved in a crash, you do not need to contact 911 as long as you exchange information with the other driver and submit a report to the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office. You can reach the patrol division at 316-660-3760 to finalize a crash report. It's important to note that this plan does not cover major highways overseen by the Kansas Highway Patrol. Prior to being rolled out in unincorporated Sedgwick County, EARP was already operational within the city limits of Wichita, Derby, Maize, Goddard, Bel Aire, and Haysville. Weather forecasts anticipate continued snowfall in the region throughout the evening.
