Second pilot in New Jersey helicopter crash dies, both victims identified by authorities

A tragic incident in South Jersey involving a midair collision between two helicopters has resulted in the death of both pilots. Hammonton Police identified the pilots as Kenneth L. Kirsch, 65, from Carney's Point, New Jersey, and Michael Greenberg, 71, from Sewell, New Jersey. Kirsch, who was flying an Enstrom model F-28A helicopter, passed away at the hospital due to his critical injuries, while Greenberg, operating an Enstrom model 280C, was pronounced dead at the crash site. The helicopters took off from Hammonton Municipal Airport before the collision occurred at 11:25 a.m. Both choppers were reportedly engulfed in flames, with Kirsch ultimately succumbing to his injuries despite the efforts of emergency responders. The National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration are currently investigating the incident. New Jersey Governor-elect Mikie Sherrill expressed condolences to the affected families and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured pilot.
