Second deadly motorcycle crash in Texarkana, Texas in two weeks
TEXARKANA, Texas (KTAL/KMSS) - Police officers from the Texarkana Texas Police Department (TTPD) are investigating the second deadly motorcycle crash in two weeks. The latest happened around 9:20 a.m. on Sunday, April 19, 2026. According to TTPD, 35-year-old Jared Furlow died at the scene after crashing his motorcycle on St. Michael Drive, just east of the Pavilion Parkway underpass. Traffic investigators are working to figure out what caused the crash. On Friday, April 19, 2026, 53-year-old Russell Daily of Texarkana, Arkansas, was speeding along West Seventh Street when he lost control just past the CPKC Railroad underpass, according to TTPD. Officers say he ran into a metal bench at the T-Line bus stop at Elm Street. Paramedics rushed Daily to CHRISTUS St. Michael Hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Investigators say he was not wearing a helmet. TTPD urges all drivers and motorcyclists to use extra caution on the road, remain alert, and look out for one another. They also encourage motorcyclists to ride within their limits, ensure the motorcycle is properly equipped, and take every precaution to protect themselves while on the road.
