Second crash on I-70 due to traffic from first crash in Illinois

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— A two-vehicle accident occurred on the Indiana side of Interstate 70 after a traffic jam from a previous crash. According to the Indiana State Police, the accident occurred between two vehicles on Interstate 70 near mile marker 5 between Prarieton Road and Darwin Road. Authorities stated that one vehicle was stopped while waiting in traffic from a previous crash on Interstate 70 in Illinois. While they were stopped, the other vehicle struck them from behind. The right westbound lane was closed briefly but has since reopened. No injuries were reported. The Indiana State Police encourages residents to take an alternate route when traffic is backed up.
