Search ongoing for individual struck and fatally injured close to Clovis
Authorities are currently conducting a search for a vehicle involved in a fatal crash where a person was ejected and killed in Curry County. The incident occurred on Curry Road 4 and U.S. Highway 70, south of Clovis, resulting in the death of 24-year-old Rogelio Velasquez of Bovina, Texas. The accident occurred early in the morning on December 16, when Velasquez's vehicle crossed paths with another vehicle on Highway 70, leading to him being ejected and subsequently struck by a third vehicle which then fled the scene. Law enforcement, including the Curry County Sheriff's Office and New Mexico State Police, are working together to investigate the crash and locate the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run.
