Saunderstown man charged with OUI after boat crash
JAMESTOWN R.I. (WPRI) — A former Rhode Island state senator has been charged with OUI after crashing the boat he was driving into a moored vessel, ejecting his passenger. The incident happened off the East Ferry waterway Friday night. Police were called to the scene for a report of a maritime collision. The ejected passenger was evaluated and did not report injuries. Police found 47-year-old Dawson Hodgson showing signs of intoxication and refusing to take sobriety tests. He has been charged with operating a boat while under the influence. 12 News has attempted to reach out to Hodgson for comment.
