San Marcos Pre-K school bus involved in minor accident, police say
AUSTIN (KXAN) -- No one was injured after a school bus carrying Pre-K students in San Marcos was involved in a "minor traffic accident" Tuesday morning, according to San Marcos Police. Police said a vehicle rear-ended the bus in the 1900 block of Redwood Road. The school district said in a social media post that the bus was on its route at the time of the accident. The San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District posted an update on Facebook, sharing the details of what happened. "This morning, Bonham Bus 2001 was hit from behind near the Redwood Apartments during its route. All 16 students and the bus driver are safe and were evaluated by first responders, with no injuries reported. At the time of the accident, all students were properly secured with 3-point lap-and-should seat belts," the post said. The students were taken to school on another SMCISD school bus, and all parents of students on the bus were notified, according to the district. Police said drivers in the area should expect delays.
