San Juan County deputies investigating fatal crash involving Farmington police officer
Editor's Note: The video attached to this story may be disturbing to some. SAN JUAN COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – The San Juan County Sheriff's Office is investigating a deadly crash involving a Farmington police officer. Farmington police said officers were in the area of Broadway and Butler for a separate incident and searching for a suspect who fled from them. One officer driving on Broadway struck a man lying in the road. The man has since been identified as Ernest Begay. Begay died on scene. A second officer in the area nearly struck Begay shortly after. No word yet as to why Begay was lying in the road.
