San Francisco police chase ends in crash with Muni bus
SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- The driver of a stolen car who was being pursued by police Thursday night in San Francisco collided head-on with a Muni bus, according to the San Francisco Fire Department. The crash occurred around 10:18 p.m. at 595 John Muir Drive, on the south side of Lake Merced. The male driver of the stolen car suffered moderate to major injuries in the crash, fire officials said, and crews needed to extricate him from the wreckage using the Jaws of Life. He was hospitalized for his injuries. The driver of the Muni bus was hospitalized for minor injuries and further evaluation, SFFD said. It is unclear if the bus was carrying any passengers at the time of the crash. Further details of the police pursuit were not immediately available.
