Route 11 closed in Alton after head-on crash with serious injuries
One person is dead after a head-on crash on Route 11 in Alton Tuesday morning, according to police. The crash happened around 6:30 a.m. near Heron Point Road. Officials say two vehicles were involved. The identity of the victim has not been released. The driver of the other vehicle was injured but police do not believe they are life-threatening. Police say the road is expected to be closed until roughly 11 a.m.
