Route 1 closed in Saco due to a crash
Part of Route 1 was closed Friday morning due to a crash.At about 7:38 a.m., the Saco Police Department said Route 1 was closed to all traffic between Spring Hill Road and Cascade Road. Police said they expected the road to be closed for several hours.A Maine's Total Coverage crew at the scene saw at least two vehicles involved, including a motorcycle and a red SUV. The motorcycle was on its side in the roadway and the SUV appeared to have hit a utility pole. There was debris strewn across the road in front of Whited Peterbilt. That debris appeared to include a tire.Police were asking drivers to avoid the area, which is near several of the auto dealerships in Saco, including Jack Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM, Hyundai of Saco, Bill Dodge Nissan and Bill Dodge Kia of Saco and Ira Ford of Saco.Maine's Total Coverage is working to get more information about the crash, including potential injuries.
