Rockcastle County Sheriff's Office investigates fatal crash on Highway 421 near Big Hill
One person is dead after a two-vehicle crash on Highway 421 in Rockcastle County early Tuesday morning, according to a social media post from Trooper Scottie Pennington.A deputy with the Rockcastle County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a fatal collision on Highway 421 near the community of Big Hill just before 5 a.m.A 2003 Chevrolet pickup truck, occupied by three passengers, appeared to have crossed into the path of a 2012 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by 45-year-old Matthew Gabbard, Trooper Pennington reported. Gabbard was taken to CHI Saint Joseph Hospital in Berea, where he was pronounced dead by the Madison County Coroner.The crash in under investigation.
