Road closed in both directions due to fatal horse-and-buggy crash
A tragic collision involving two vehicles, one being a horse-and-buggy, occurred on Wednesday afternoon in eastern Lancaster County. The incident took place on Strasburg Road/Route 741 in Salisbury Township around 1:30 p.m., close to the Hoover Road intersection. Pennsylvania State Police confirmed one person was tragically pronounced dead at the scene, and a deceased horse was also observed on the road by a WGAL News 8 team present. Various law enforcement units, including the Lancaster Patrol, Troop J Forensic Services Unit, and Troop J Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Specialists Unit, are currently on-site conducting investigations. Strasburg Road was temporarily closed in both directions but has since reopened to traffic.
