Responding to numerous crashes in Santa Clarita due to Christmas storms.
The current heavy rainfall in Southern California is causing dangerous road conditions and resulting in tragic accidents on Christmas Day. Authorities are advising caution due to the high number of collisions being reported. In Santa Clarita, the rain has caused lane closures and a spike in accidents in the local area. Firefighter Alec Niccum of the Los Angeles County Fire Department stresses the importance of slowing down while traveling during the holidays to ensure safety. Station 126 in Santa Clarita has been busy responding to numerous collisions with severe injuries and multiple vehicles involved. The unfavorable weather conditions have also led to hazardous situations on the freeway, with the California Highway Patrol attending to fatal crashes on the I-5 freeway and near Vista Del Lago Road. Despite it being a holiday week, the fire department has increased personnel and standby readiness to promptly respond to any calls in the next day.
