Reno County crash claims two lives; passenger injured
WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Two people died, and a passenger was injured following a two-vehicle collision in Reno County Saturday morning. The crash occurred just after 10 a.m., half a mile north of U.S. Highway 50 on Kansas Highway 14. According to the Reno County Sheriff's Office, a silver Jeep Liberty was traveling north on the highway, and a Chevy Malibu was traveling south when they collided. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger from one of the vehicles was taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center for treatment, but their current condition is unknown, the sheriff's office said. Multiple agencies responded to the crash, including the Hutchinson Fire Department, Reno County EMS, EagleMed, South Hutchinson Police Department, Hutchinson Police Department, and Buhler Police Department. The sheriff's office said the cause of the crash is under investigation. The roadway will remain closed until further notice.
