Private plane with 8 aboard crashes at Bangor Airport, per FAA

The Federal Aviation Administration has reported that a private jet carrying eight individuals crashed at Bangor International Airport in Maine on Sunday evening. The accident involved a Bombardier Challenger 600 during takeoff around 7:45 p.m. Emergency crews from Bangor, Glenburn, and Hermon fire departments responded to the scene, prompting the closure of the runway by airport officials by 8:25 p.m. The airport was subsequently closed at 10:30 p.m. with emergency teams expected to be active for hours ahead. Authorities are urging the public to steer clear of the area and advise passengers to coordinate with airlines for travel-related concerns. The condition of the individuals onboard remains unknown.
