Principal sentenced for 2024 deadly drunk driving accident

A former Whitefish Bay associate principal has been sentenced to six years in prison for causing a deadly drunk driving crash in West Bend in 2024. Rebecca Salomon, who was an associate principal at Cumberland Elementary School, admitted to failing to yield at an intersection, resulting in a collision with an SUV. The crash led to the death of Dave Cournia, the driver of the SUV. Salomon pleaded no contest to homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle and expressed deep remorse during the sentencing hearing. The victim's family also shared their grief and emphasized the impact of the tragic event.
