Possible train accident in Gresham leaves one with life-threatening injuries
Union Pacific and Gresham Police Department were on the scene where a train struck a person, leaving them with serious injuries. Jarom Sweazey, spokesperson for Gresham Police, told KATU News that one person was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries after a train-related incident on Northeast 192 Avenue in Gresham. Union Pacific also confirmed to KATU that a train struck a trespasser around 1:32 p.m. "The trespasser was laying down on the tracks, and the incident did not occur at a crossing. The person was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries," a Union Pacific spokesperson said. Battalion Chief Fire Marshal Shawn Durham of Gresham Fire said crews arrived on scene and found one man that had been struck by a train who was subsequently taken to a local trauma center.
