‘Possible fugitive’ arrested after crashing into multiple vehicles, hitting law enforcement agent
A "potential fugitive" was arrested this afternoon following a police chase and a physical altercation with law enforcement. The incident occurred between West California Avenue and Pioneer Road in Salt Lake City. According to police, they located the suspect at a gas station. When the suspect was confronted, they attempted to flee the scene, hitting two Department of Corrections vehicles and an AP&P agent. The suspect continued to flee, also striking a third vehicle before being taken into custody. The AP&P agent was transported to the hospital for evaluation but is expected to be okay, according to police. SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — A police incident leading to a crash has closed down the roads between West California Avenue and Pioneer Road in Salt Lake City. According to Salt Lake City Police, officers are responding to a traffic incident on California Avenue. Details are limited at this time but Adult Probation and Parole (AP&P) is handling the incident. AP&P confirmed that multiple vehicles were involved in the crash and one person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. California avenue is closed between Pioneer Road and Southbound Pioneer road is only open to a single lane.
