Police say two people in custody after chase suspect crashes into vehicles at River Oaks shopping center
Two individuals have been apprehended after a pursuit resulting in a collision at a shopping complex in Houston's River Oaks neighborhood. The incident took place at the Highland Village shopping center on Westheimer Road near Drexel Drive. Law enforcement officials working in an unmarked vehicle were tailing two well-known auto theft suspects before one of them reportedly stole a vehicle. The suspect drove into oncoming traffic before crashing into multiple vehicles within the shopping center’s parking lot. Following a brief chase, officers were able to detain the suspect, while another individual was arrested during a separate traffic stop. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The suspects remain unidentified but the chase suspect is facing charges including evading arrest, theft, and criminal mischief.
