Police locate, arrest truck driver after he allegedly left scene of accident
The driver of a tractor-trailer who allegedly fled an accident Sunday was located Monday by Laredo police. Police said the accident occurred around noon Sunday near San Bernardo Avenue and West Calton Road. It involved a Chevy and a tractor-trailer, and the driver of the tractor-trailer left the scene before officers arrived. The driver of the Chevy was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. While no identifying information was available at the time of the accident, the tractor-trailer was later found at a trucking business on Riverside Drive. Police identified the suspect as a 55-year-old man. He was arrested on two misdemeanor charges of accident involving damage to a vehicle greater than $200. Police said the investigation succeeded with assistance from the LPD Real Time Crime Analyst and the LPD Raven operator.
