Police investigate bridge collision in Glenville

GLENVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Florida man is facing multiple citations after allegedly hitting the Glenville Road train overpass bridge on Wednesday. The Glenville Police Department said Nestor Dopico, of Cape Coral, is accused of failing to obey traffic control devices and a Glenville town code violation for an over-height vehicle. Police responded to the bridge around 10:31 a.m. to find a 2022 Volvo 18-wheel tractor-trailer that hit the Glenville train overpass bridge. Dopico, who was driving westbound on Glenville Road, allegedly ignored the over-height warning signs before colliding with the bridge. The collision ripped the entire top of the tractor-trailer off, law enforcement reported. Dopico told authorities he was heading to the corporation park and was following the GPS. Police added that no injuries were reported from the bridge strike. A full Department of Transportation inspection was conducted on the truck and trailer before the vehicle was put out of service. Dopico is scheduled to appear in Glenville Town Court on March 19 at 5 p.m.
