Police identify driver accused in fatal wrong-way crash near Austin airport

The Austin Police Department has provided updates on the multi-vehicle accident that occurred on U.S. 183 in Southeast Austin on Sunday. The wrong-way driver involved has been identified as Angelicque Bramlett, 27, and was charged with intoxication manslaughter following the crash. The incident, involving an SUV, hatchback, and sedan, resulted in the tragic death of the female hatchback driver. The sedan driver remained cooperative at the scene. The crash led to the closure of northbound lanes near Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, which were reopened a few hours later. This marks the 94th fatal crash in Austin for 2025, resulting in 98 deaths – a slight decrease compared to the same period in 2024, when there were 93 fatal crashes and 100 fatalities. The identity of the deceased woman has not been disclosed by the police.
