Police: Fatal shooting victim crashed car in north Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- One person is dead after a Wednesday night shooting in which the victim crashed a car they were driving in north Columbus. According to Columbus police, the crash happened near the North Linden intersection of Homestead Drive and Carolyn Avenue at approximately 9:45 p.m. Police said a 911-caller said the car crashed into a parked vehicle on the street, and when officers arrived, they found the driver suffering from gunshot wounds. There were no other people in the driver's car and no people in the parked vehicle. The driver was taken to a local hospital and is listed in critical condition, but later pronounced dead Thursday morning. There is no further information available at this time.
