Police: Ephrata resident dies in hospital after being hit by vehicle that ran through a stop sign
A pedestrian was struck and later died in the hospital after a vehicle ran through a stop sign and hit them, police say. The crash happened on May 1 around 4:55 p.m. on Clearview Avenue at Dawn Avenue in Ephrata Borough, according to the Ephrata Police Department. Police say a 62-year-old man driving a Toyota RAV4 went through a stop sign and hit a pedestrian in the crosswalk. The man was the only occupant of the vehicle and stayed on the scene after the crash. The 55-year-old victim was transported to Lancaster General Hospital with critical injuries. The Ephrata native later succumbed to those injuries. This crash is still under investigation.
