Pilot injured in British fighter jet crash off Big Sur Coast
Earlier today, a classic British fighter jet went down in the ocean near Big Sur, as reported by the US Coast Guard. The fighter jet, a Hawker Hunter, departed from Oxnard with its destination unknown. The crash occurred around 11 a.m. Thankfully, the pilot managed to eject from the aircraft but sustained a severe spinal injury. A U.S. Navy rescue helicopter from Lemoore Naval Air Station conducted the rescue and transferred the pilot to Stanford Medical Center in Palo Alto. The pilot's current condition remains undisclosed.
