Phoenix crash injures multiple people, impairment suspected

A recent incident in Phoenix on a Friday night resulted in five individuals, including two children, sustaining injuries in a collision that authorities believe may have involved impairment. According to Phoenix Police Sgt. Jennifer Zak, the crash occurred at about 7:50 p.m. near the intersection of 19th and Southern avenues. Emergency responders found a passenger car and a pickup truck involved in the crash, with multiple injured individuals requiring medical attention. The adult male passenger from the truck and two adult passengers from the car were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while the two children were also hospitalized with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Officials suspect impairment may have been a contributing factor in the incident, and a person was detained at the scene. Charges, if any, will be determined upon the completion of the investigation. Names of those involved have not been disclosed, and there is currently no information available regarding the circumstances leading to the crash.
