Person in critical condition after vehicle causes multiple crashes, catches on fire in Ansonia: PD
ANSONIA, Conn. (WTNH) — Ansonia police say that a vehicle caused multiple crashes on Sunday, ending in a car fire and leaving one person in critical condition. A gray Jeep struck a vehicle around 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Bridge Street and West Main Street before leaving the scene, which was then reported to police. Officers found that the Jeep had been involved in a second crash on Pershing Drive at Division Street, where it struck two more vehicles before hitting a pole and catching on fire, police said. The four occupants of the Jeep were injured, including one passenger who suffered serious neck and head injuries and is in critical condition. Police have not released the names of anybody involved at this time. Anybody who believes they may have information about the crashes is asked to contact the police department at (203) 735-1885. The crashes remain under investigation.
