Person flown to trauma center after head-on collision in Franklin County, Pa.

One person was flown to the hospital after a head-on crash in Franklin County on Wednesday, according to the Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Department. Video above: Headlines from WGAL News 8 Today. Officials said two vehicles collided at the intersection of Black Gap Road/Route 997 and Byers Road in Greene Township around 6:15 a.m. One person was trapped inside a vehicle when crews arrived, according to the department. Rescue crews stabilized the vehicle and cut off the roof to free the patient. The fire department said a person was airlifted to a regional trauma center. Their condition is unknown. A stretch of Black Gap Road/Route 997 was closed in both directions for several hours so the Pennsylvania State Police could conduct an investigation.The road has since reopened.
