Pedestrian severely injured in SF Inner Sunset crash

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- An investigation is underway after a bicyclist was struck by a vehicle in the city's Inner Sunset neighborhood Friday afternoon, according to San Francisco police and fire officials. SFPD said officers responded just after 3 p.m. on Irving Street near 7th and 8th avenues to investigate a report of a collision involving a vehicle and a bicyclist. SFPD said officers arrived at the scene and located a female victim. The woman was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries, which SFFD described to KRON4 as "traumatic." The driver of the vehicle remained at the crash and is working with investigators, according to SFPD. San Francisco police are handling the investigation. It is not yet clear what led to the crash.
