Pedestrian killed in Shreveport crash, police investigate
SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — On Monday, May 11, 2026, a vehicle struck and killed a pedestrian in a crash that prompted an investigation by the Shreveport Police Department. Police say the incident happened around 9:24 p.m. When officers arrived at the scene, they say the investigation indicates that the pedestrian was possibly attempting to cross the roadway in a westbound direction when he was struck by a 2007 Lexus sedan. The pedestrian was transported by the Shreveport Fire Department to Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport, where he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the Lexus was also taken to Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport. Members of the Shreveport Police Department’s DWI Unit also arrived on scene, where the driver voluntarily submitted to standard field sobriety tests and a blood draw as part of the investigation.
