Pedestrian in critical condition after crash in West Springfield
WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A pedestrian is critically injured after a motor vehicle crash on Riverdale Street in West Springfield on Tuesday morning. The West Springfield Police Department states that at 6:05 a.m., officers were sent to the area of Donut Dip at 1305 Riverdale Street following a pedestrian crash 911 call. A 54-year-old man was taken to Baystate Medical Center and is listed in critical condition. The driver of the vehicle involved was taken to Mercy Medical Center and is cooperating with the investigation. The West Springfield Police Department Accident Reconstruction Team and the Hampden District Attorney's Office are investigating the crash. No charges have been filed at this time, and the identities of those involved have not yet been released. 22News will update this story as soon as more information becomes available.
