Pedestrian hit, killed in hit-and-run crash in Orange County.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal hit-and-run involving a pedestrian.The crash occurred around 5:10 a.m. in a wooded area northeast of state Road 520 and south of State Road 50 in Christmas. The crash occurred when a 2020 GMC Sierra was traveling west within a wooded area south of State Road 50 when it hit a pedestrian identified as a 56-year-old male, killing them. The truck continued southwest within the woods and became stuck in a mud pit. The driver of the GMC then ran away in an unknown direction, the FHP says. It is unclear how or why the victim was in the path of the truck. The truck was taken for evidence processing. The crash remains under investigation.
