Pedestrian fatally hit by semi-truck in Los Angeles supermarket parking area
Police and firefighters are currently at the site of a tragic collision involving a semi-truck and a pedestrian in Van Nuys. The Los Angeles Police Department quickly responded to the incident, which took place on North Van Nuys Boulevard near Vanowen Street just before 2 p.m. Unfortunately, there are few details about what happened, but images from Sky5 show the semi-truck with a Jons Fresh Marketplace logo on the side in a grocery store parking lot. The collision occurred as the truck driver was reportedly trying to reach the store's loading bay. The police have sectioned off part of the parking lot with yellow crime scene tape and have several patrol units on-site. Medical personnel from the Los Angeles Fire Department have confirmed that the victim, a 55-year-old male, was pronounced dead at the scene. The L.A. County Medical Examiner is on their way to handle the deceased's remains. Further information is currently unavailable, but we will update you as more details emerge.
