Pedestrian dead, Fort Wayne Police Department searching for suspect
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The Fort Wayne Police Department is searching for the person responsible for hitting and killing a woman early Wednesday morning. It happened in the 200 block of East Rudisill Boulevard. Police arrived at the scene and found the woman in the roadway. Medics transported her to a hospital in a life-threatening condition. Doctors pronounced her dead at the hospital. According to police, they believe the woman was crossing the roadway southbound, near McDonald's. That's when a larger SUV traveling east hit the woman. Police say the SUV took off, and they have no further information about it. Investigators say they will be using surveillance video from nearby businesses to try and track the driver down.
