Pedestrian airlifted to trauma center after crash in Orange
ORANGE, Mass. (WWLP) - A pedestrian was flown to a trauma center Thursday morning following a motor vehicle crash in Orange. According to Orange Fire Rescue, UMass Memorial LifeFlight landed at the Orange Municipal Airport after a motor vehicle-versus-pedestrian accident in town. Officials did not release information about the victim's condition or where the crash occurred. Orange Fire Rescue also thanked the Athol Fire Department for providing a mutual aid ambulance while Orange crews were already handling another emergency call. The department said Captain Matthews manages the incident command for the crash before transitioning to oversee and secure the helicopter landing zone. “In times of multiple calls and limited personnel, we often find ourselves in dual roles, both administratively and operationally,” the department stated in a social media post. “We are fortunate to have dedicated staff on our dept that are able to do both.” 22News has reached out to Orange Fire Rescue for additional information, but has not yet heard back.
