PD: Woman killed in alleged high-speed, rollover crash in State College

Emergency officials in Centre County say a woman was killed late Wednesday morning in an alleged high-speed crash in State College. Police say the unidentified driver reportedly crashed into a retaining wall, near the intersection of South Allen Street and Easterly Parkway, just after 11 a.m. Investigators say the woman was reportedly found unresponsive and was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased. According to video surveillance, authorities say the driver was allegedly traveling northbound along Allen Street, at a high-rate of speed, when she lost control. Police say prior to colliding with the retaining wall, investigators say the driver narrowly avoided collisions with both another motorist and a pedestrian. After striking the wall, police say woman's vehicle went airborne and overturned. Police say no other injuries were reported in the crash and the driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle. Authorities say the woman's identity is being withheld, pending notification of her family, as the crash investigation continues.
