Passenger dead, driver has life-threatening injuries after Addison County crash
A single-car crash in Addison County has left one man dead and another seriously injured. Vermont State Police responded to a single-car crash with entrapment just after 5:30 p.m. Sunday evening on Old Sawmill Road near Vail Road.Troopers arrived to find the car pressed up against trees. The driver and passenger had to be extracted from the car by the Orwell Fire Department. Twenty-eight-year-old Michael Guess was pronounced dead at the scene.The driver was airlifted to the University of Vermont Medical Center with serious, life-threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing. Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash. Anyone with information should call the New Haven Barracks.
